my name is Madlena.. i’m based in Crete, and i photograph people the way i like to see them - real, soft, and not performing for anyone

i started taking photos before i even understood why i liked it.. i just knew i preferred quiet moments, small details, and the way light hits skin when no one is trying too hard

over the years it became my way of noticing people, not just documenting them

i’m not interested in perfect poses or staged emotions.. i like the in-between: the breath before someone laughs, the second they forget the camera, the way hands naturally move, kids running around, couples being themselves, families being families.. that’s the stuff that feels honest to me

i work mostly with natural light, because it has its own softness you can’t fake. the kind of light that comes from windows, from early mornings, from the sea, from everyday life. i try to keep things simple. no big setups. no pressure. just you, the moment, and whatever is true at that time

my goal is always the same: to make images that feel like memories, not performances. photos you can look at years later and still feel something real
